Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • Gene was a great guy to work with on the repair tracks area. Sheet metal work is what we did. Great St. Vital Boy. May God bless him. Al. - Posted by: Al Belliveau (Worked on the railway with Gene in Fort Rouge shop. Had a great time. God love Him) on: Dec 23, 2016

  • My Dad in his life always encouraged me to never give up and to set goals. I always knew he would make time to talk to me and advise whenever I had any problems or concerns I wanted to discuss. He loved to play his guitar and sing tunes with his family and others. His gift to us his family is the love of music we all share. Always in my heart Dad. Thanks for watching over us to keep us safe Miss you So XoXo - Posted by: Janice Carson (Daughter) on: Jan 09, 2013

  • My Dad will always be special to me and I love him so much. He always made me feel I could accomplish my goals and with setbacks in my life to move forward and not to give up. Even now I feel he is watching over his family keeping us all safe. The gifts in his life to others was sharing a tune on his guitar and having sing songs together. He loved making people happy and seeing them smile. Always in my heart Dad - Posted by: Janice Carson (Daughter ) on: Jan 09, 2013

  • Like Shannon stated, we have so many wonderful memories with grandpa up at the cottage, sitting around the bonfire or on the deck making music. My favorite memory was taking a trip to Italy with grandpa & grandma to meet the Carsone family. An unforgetable experience. Grandpa can't believe it's been a year since you've moved on. Can still hear you singing and playing "Up a Lazy River" on your guitar. Love you and miss you so much...thinking of you often. xoxo Corry - Posted by: Corry S (Granddaughter) on: Jan 09, 2013

  • My Grandfather was one of the most amazing men I have ever known. We spent so much time together at the cabin north of Gimli where he taught me how to play guitar and we played together and sang. Those of you who have been fortunate to know him know how much music has been a part of not only his but our families lives...I am happy to inform you, Grandpa, we are still keeping the tradition alive in your memory. Missing you every day and sending love to above. xoxo Shannon D - Posted by: Shannon Carson (Granddaughter) on: Jan 09, 2013

  • My dad is Vic and he was born Jan 04,1923. Just before Gene. They were dear friends. Dad saw the memorial for Gene today and called me to tell me it was in the paper. Dad played accordion as a kid to make extra money and Gene played guitar. Dad remembers so many nice stories of Gene and misses his dear friend. Vic is legally blind so I am writing this for him. But he sends his best wishes to Cecile and the family. He has many fond memories of Gene. Dad just celebrated his 90th birthday. Thank you. - Posted by: Vic Guarino (Lifelong friend) on: Jan 09, 2013
